Building Fund Events, 2006:
Car Wash and Rummage Sales
Holy Trinity Parish anticipates the future purchase of their current facility.
The first Fund-raising event was a car wash on July 29 from 9 AM to 2 PM. This was followed by a Rummage Sale, part 1 on Sat., Aug. 19 and part 2, 2 weeks later. We are most grateful to the wonderful work of so many volunteers and the blessed hours of fellowship.
The proceeds of the 3 events augmented the Building fund by nearly $3,500. The spirit of the events was truly inspiring, but we have also learned how much work is required by all to make these events a success.
Beginning at 5 AM on Saturday, Sept. 15, a group of hardy church members - including teenagers! - began to prepare for the 2nd annual Rummage Sale in the parking lot of Holy Trinity Anglican church with a prayer in the church's undercroft. The first customers appeared in the early twilight, even before the official opening time of 7 AM. Many treasures were hauled off by neighbors and professional rummage assessors.
Many thanks for the dedicated volunteers who served enthusiastically until about 1 PM, when the unsold remains were loaded onto a rented Van to take to the Church Army near Farmington, MO. The weather was perfect in the low 70's. God greatly blessed us this year! The proceeds of more than $1,600 went to bolster the Building Fund toward our eventual permanent Church home.
